How to Become a Wilde K9'er
STEPS
01 - FECAL TEST
Before joining us, your dog must have a current fecal test completed through your veterinary office to help ensure they are free from contagious intestinal parasites. You can attach the results on the form in the next step.

02 - TELL US ABOUT YOUR DOG
Complete our assessment form and tell us about your dog's personality, history, routines, needs and social behaviour.
This gives us a better understanding of your dog before they arrive!

03 - MEET & GREET ASSESSMENT
We'll schedule a one hour Meet & Greet where you and your dog can come check out Wilde K9, meet me, explore the space and get comfortable with your new surroundings.
It's a chance to talk, ask questions and make those first introductions before their big day!
04 - TRIAL DAY ASSESSMENT
Your dog will spend several hours experiencing a typical day at Wilde K9 while I assess how they settle in, interact, play, rest and respond to their new surroundings.
I'll be watching their body language, comfort level, social interactions and overall wellbeing throughout the day.
05 - FIND THEIR RHYTHM
Every dog is different! Some dogs settle in right away and act like they've always been here. Others need a little extra time and a few more visits to feel completely comfortable.
There's no rush. I'll go at your dogs pace and help them find their own Wilde K9 rhythm!

If you need to expedite this process for last minute plans, I can combine the assessment and day trial into one 8-hour day. The fee for this option is $100 and needs to be booked advanced

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE MEET & GREET? 🐾
Your one hour Meet & Greet is a chance for you and your dog to get comfortable, explore Wilde K9 and get to know me.
We'll start with a chat about your dog's personality, routines, needs and temperament, followed by a tour of the space.
If time allows, I'll spend some one on one time with your pup while you step out. They'll be on a slip leash during this time as a standard safety precaution. Although our outdoor yard is fully fenced, the slip leash allows me to safely guide or retrieve them if needed while they explore and we get to know each other.
If your dog is social and you'd like them to participate in a social setting, we may introduce them to another dog one at a time and at their own pace to get an initial sense of how they interact with others.
For dogs who aren't dog friendly, that's completely okay! They'll simply get to explore, hang out with me and become familiar with their new surroundings.
The Meet & Greet is just the beginning, their Trial Day Assessment is where we really get to know them. 🤍
WHAT IF WILDE K9 ISN'T THE RIGHT FIT? 🤍
Sometimes, after getting to know a dog, we may feel that Wilde K9 isn't the best environment for them, and that's okay!
Our priority is making sure every dog in our care is comfortable, happy and set up to succeed. This includes being able to settle and relax during scheduled downtime.
Rest is an important part of the day at Wilde K9. All dogs deserve the opportunity to relax and recharge peacefully. A dog who is consistently pacing, whining or barking during downtime can make it difficult for the dogs around them to settle and feel comfortable in their own spaces.
If we feel your dog is struggling to settle or that our environment isn't the right match for their needs, we'll always be honest with you.
